Workspace Settings: Linking the CLI to Vibgrate Cloud

Understand how CLI workspace settings connect local scans to a Vibgrate Cloud workspace via vg login or a DSN, and how that enables team trend analysis.

This article explains how the CLI connects to a Vibgrate Cloud workspace and what that enables. It is for developers and leads who want shared visibility into drift across the team.

Overview

Local scanning needs no account: a bare vg produces a DriftScore on its own. Workspace settings come into play when you want to share results. Connecting the CLI to a Vibgrate Cloud workspace lets your team see trends and compare scans over time in the hosted dashboard at dash.vibgrate.com.

Connecting interactively

On your own machine, link the CLI to your workspace with the browser flow:

vg login

The CLI stores a login credential so subsequent uploads are authenticated to your workspace.

Connecting in automation

In CI, link uploads to your workspace with a DSN token instead of an interactive login:

vg scan --push --dsn "$VIBGRATE_DSN"

The DSN authenticates the upload to the correct workspace without a browser.

Pushing results

Once connected, upload results so they appear in Vibgrate Cloud:

vg push

Or scan and push together with vg scan --push.

Managing the connection

  • Sign out to clear the stored credential with vg logout.
  • Rotate a DSN by generating a new one if it may have been exposed.
  • Keep local-only scanning when you do not need to share results; nothing is uploaded unless you push.
