Our mission

Keep software — and the AI now writing it — current, understood, and free of known, avoidable risk.

We say known, avoidable risk, not "safe." We don't promise absolute security — we find the risk that is already known and give you the path to clear it.

The shift

The workflow changed. The guardrails didn't.

AI now writes a large, growing share of production code, at machine speed. But it writes against generic, "latest," or hallucinated context — so it confidently ships code that targets deprecated APIs, pulls vulnerable dependencies, and misunderstands the structure of the very repo it is editing.

Codebases drift from current, supported truth faster than ever, and almost no team can see it happening. The teams that win the next few years are the ones whose humans and AI work from the same current, verifiable ground truth.

The old way

  • AI guesses the version you run, and writes to the wrong one.
  • Drift is invisible until a CVE turns it into an emergency.
  • Agents re-read the whole repo every session, burning tokens.
  • Upgrades ship on gut feel, ungoverned and unverified.

The new way, with Vibgrate

  • Your AI reads version-correct context from your lockfile.
  • A 0–100 DriftScore shows exactly how far behind you are.
  • A deterministic, committable map answers in one call.
  • Every remediation is inspected, approved and verified.
The promised land

Humans and AI, aligned on one current truth

Three pillars get you there. Drift measurement is the proof that the AI context is grounded in real risk, not vibes — the thread that makes all three one company, not three.

Version-correct context

Your AI is handed library docs pinned to your lockfile — not "latest" — so it stops writing deprecated code.

A map it can trust

A deterministic, committable map of your real code, so humans and agents stop guessing and re-reading.

Drift you can measure

A 0–100 DriftScore shows exactly how far you have drifted — and the upgrade that clears the known CVEs.

What we're allowed to claim

These aren't decoration. Each value constrains what our product and our copy may say.

Held to a higher standard

We hold customer source metadata, dependency graphs and vulnerability data. Trust is the product — so we hold this code to the standard we hold our customers’ code to, and higher.

Integrity over hype

In a category where competitors farm stars and over-claim, our moat is checkable claims: reproducible benchmarks, signed releases, "never reads your source." If we can’t measure it, we don’t say it.

Developer-first, zero-commitment

First value with no signup, no upload, offline: npx @vibgrate/cli scan. The command is the trial. We earn the team before we ask for the account.

Honest about free vs paid

We say what’s free plainly and never bury the limit. Scanning and your DriftScore are free; you pay to monitor at scale. No dark patterns, no surprise gates.

Governed change, never a back-door

No state-altering migration bypasses inspect → assess → approve → verify. The governance we sell is the governance we practice. The thing we sell is the thing we do.

Meet the founder

Four decades of enterprise software experience. One mission: keep codebases, and the AI writing them, current and understood.

Peter Chapman

Founder & CEO

Peter's IT career began at age twelve, coding invoicing software on a Sharp MZ80K with a cassette tape drive. Over 40 years later, he's witnessed every major shift in software development — from mainframes to microservices, waterfall to agile, and now the AI revolution.

In the late 1990s, Peter built an ecommerce platform that evolved into catalog360, a cloud-based procure-to-pay solution used by NHS trusts and enterprises to process millions in annual orders. In 2018, he sold catalog360 to a Fortune 100 company in the US.

"AI-assisted coding is the most exciting opportunity our industry has ever faced. But as AI generates more of our code, we're losing sight of what's actually being built — and it's drifting from current, correct truth faster than ever. Close that gap and you keep the speed without the risk."

That insight sparked Vibgrate: a platform that keeps every repository — and the AI now editing it — current, understood, and free of known, avoidable risk, whether the code is written by humans or machines.
